I haven't been to that many zoos, but Wilhelma is a gorgeous setting. There are beautiful grounds that I can't wait to see as things start warming up in the next few months.
The kids are off from school this week for a winter holiday, so we headed on the train to make a morning at the zoo.
Lucky for me as I was strapping Ada into the stroller to head out, a buckle broke on my beloved Zooper. We have had this stroller for over 8 years, through 3 kids, different countries, and countless diaper changes. It's in an important point, so I'm going to have to figure out a replacement buckle or duct tape Ada to the stroller permanently. Hmmm. The manufacturer, to its credit, responded within 8 hours and offered up a $20 replacement buckle that likely costs $.10 to make. But...in the interest of stroller safety (think bumping a stroller up and down flights of stairs fully loaded with groceries....) I may bite on the replacement buckle. I'm actually impressed that a company today would offer a replacement part on a stroller that is 9 years old. Not bad.
So the zoo was great. We decided to swing by and see the sea lions one more time and happened upon feeding time. What a hoot.
Tired kiddos. Tired mom. Grateful for the little Greek man who treated the kids to lollipops after dinner. Small victories.
