So, at the end of the first week, we had moved beyond the worst of the jet lag. It seemed time to try a few more familiar things. We decided on dinner in a great nearby town called Tuebingen. Tuebingen is known as a city with a great quality of life. We take friends and family there when they visit, as it's beautiful and a quick trip. We found a favorite Italian restaurant was still in business, so we stopped for dinner. Ada, who had not eaten much all week, downed an entire bowl of pasta with pesto sauce. The kids loved it and the wait staff was so gracious, we will return again and again.
The end of the first week marked a serious turn in the weather. It was just frigid by the first weekend. We headed out on Sunday morning to the Natural History Museum and a local park nearby. I LOVE the parks here, but we only lasted about 15 minutes before everyone was pretty much frozen.
