Mom & Dad (Kimball and Pat) arrived on the 15th of October and we headed out for Burgundy a couple of days afterwards. We weren't sure what the plan was or what was in store but we had a grand time! We rented a house in a small town north of Dijon (and about 2oo miles Southeast of Paris) which proved to be fantastic. We certainly enjoyed the fireplace (it seems like we burned through a cord of wood), the kitchen (the owners are extreme foodies), and the weather cooperated nicely.
After we arrived we headed out for a drive through the vineyards around Chablis and ended up in a beautiful hill town called Vezelay. The cathedral was awesome and our picnic was a nice addition (though it was because I didn't get my stuff together in time...missed the lunch window!).
