We finished up our week in the town of Beaune, right in the heart of the Burgundy'est of Burgundy. It sits roughly in the middle of the best wine-growing areas and you can tell what drives the economy in and around the town. The weather wasn't that fantastic, but we were able to visit an old hospital (the funky roof), walk around town, and drive through some of the vineyards....we'd highly recommend it to anyone! BTW, they were already decorating for Christmas (in the middle of October) so don't think that we Americans have the market cornered on commercializing the holidays!
