After a very hot July, August has proven to be quite rainy and downright cool. We've had a few adventures, most recently driving up to Frankfurt to have lunch with a friend of mine from Albuquerque. We had a lovely time and the kids really hung in there on a long day.
I have never lived anywhere where one would actually wear rain boots, but after a few weeks of absolutely soaked clothing and feet, we decided that rain boots were indeed, a needed item. Ren kept watching all the dry German kids with their rain pants, rain boots, jackets and umbrellas. He kept asking about getting some rain boots. We dusted off the stroller cover, got some rain boots, and headed back to the park. Ren was so excited the first day that he wanted to wear them to take the dog to go potty. Only American children seem to go outside with their pajamas still on. We stick out, occasionally.
Finally, Ren and Kate and I spent an hour or so with some balls at the park. They both really like to play and Ren's exicted about soccer/football. Ren did actually forget to roll the ball to Kate and is indeed throwing it at her face in this last shot...Kate is getting good at holding her own. She's close to walking, but just isn't quite ready to let go yet. We'll keep you posted.
