Week in the Alps

Nothing like some time away in the mountains to refresh a soul. We decided to get away for a week and deemed the Lammertal Valley in Austria a good bet. We relaxed, found lots of playgrounds, ate a fair amount of sausage, and saw some beautiful views. The kids really hung in there and we think had a great time at lots of parks. The Austrian Alps are just beautiful and the ski areas offer a lot of hiking options in the summer. Fortunately, we hit shoulder season with few tourists and great weather. We also made it to Salzburg two days to see the old part of Salzburg and a local open-air museum. It's amazing to see what houses were like here 400 years ago. We think the highlight was likely driving the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse, one of the most famous roads in the Alps leading up to quite a glacier. It helped to have a series of kids parks along the way :)
