On the way we stopped through Munich to kill some time and grab lunch. In spite of the rainy weather there were plenty of folks out-and-about. We had a local "you snooze, you lose" moment while getting a table for lunch (i.e. we were letting the folks that were leaving walk by us when another threesome came in the door, saw their opportunity, and ran to the table to claim it as theirs). Needless to say that's one of the cultural peculiarities that really frustrates me, especially when we've got the kids. Not wanting to make a scene (remember we had the kids?) we went ahead and had some street food instead.Once we got to Muehldorf we didn't see the band immediately but walked around the fairgrounds and checked out the booths and rides. The kids wanted to do everything and we settled on bumper cars, the shooting gallery, pony rides, and the roller coaster.
After a couple of rides we ran into the band and were able to see them perform and walk around the Fest grounds. For those that haven't ever been to a German Fest, it's quite the experience. If you could take a county fair and mix it with Bratwurst and beer, you'd come pretty close.

The band performed very well and looked like they had a great time. We were really glad they made it and looked like they were having a great time!
