We 'ran' down to Schloss Hohenzollern today which is about a 45 minute drive from the house. The kids woke up late so we didn't get away from the house until about 3:30. Once we arrived, we parked the car and then began the trek from hades (should that be capitalized, Mom?)... It was a forced march straight up a rather gruesome hill. Heidi packed Kate in the Kelty and Ren rode Daddy's shoulders all the way up. Needless to say, the hike was worth every step as the castle is wonderful and the views are amazing. We didn't tour the inside of the castle yet; we're waiting for company! After a short ice cream break, time to run around the castle, an attempt at falling into the moat, and several other small adventures, we headed back down and just arrived home in Gaertringen. All in a day's work!
